On Tuesday July 1st, 2008, the 10 song album of alternate versions of previously Angus penned tunes will be available for purchase and download.
""Son of Political Pop" is basically a 10 song out take album of material that we never got to release", said Angus. "We have a few albums in the can and I figured before we get to cranking out the new ones, we should release the material we have stored up. We had some major label interest around the time of "Political Pop" and we kept going back into the studio to re-record some old songs. As a joke, we just started referring to the album as "Son of Political Pop". The collection of songs was never really made to be one project, but we had a good time making the record and we figured we might as well put it out. With technology being the way it is, we can just put it up on the Black Potatoe website and if anyone is interested, they can download it. Ironically, these songs have nothing to do with politics at all. When we put out "Political Pop" I intentionally made songs that were politically ambiguous, thus the title. You can't be overtly political and popular, at least by definition. However, instead it led to some reviewers saying,"I don't think that is all that political at all". It was pretty funny, I guess from that end we did it right."
The ten songs will include:
Save Me
Face The Day
All Right
Higher
Wake Up
Everything
You Want
Wait
What You're Hearing (Remix)
Right Beside You (Remix)
